it's been a while since I owned a real nice camera. my last camera was a canon t2i dslr which, while nice, definitely shows its age in some ways (especially video). i recently picked up a fujifilm x-s20, and it's been lots of fun to use.

i chose the x-s20 because it seemed like a nice hybrid photo/video option. i can finally shoot video in LOG format, which you've seen the results of if you saw my anthrocon short film. this isn't about that though...

this post is about ✨ birds ✨

i took some of my friends on a trip to the local aviary and got some real lovely shots. this was my first time photographing birds, and it's really fun having to adapt on the fly (no pun intended) to get the best shot! one of my friends brought their own camera and telephoto zoom lens (100-400mm I believe?), and half way through the visit, we swapped to try each other's equipment out! the whole thing was lots of fun, and it also definitely embedded some desires of poor financial decision making by getting my own telephoto zoom lens in the future...
